USB eLicenser

Use case:
MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 Sierra latest
WLAN AC <-> fritzbox 7490 Router
<-> Exsys 1188hms USB3 Hub
<-> USB eLicenser
Latest version of eLC Software and VH Server Demo

Windows10 PC latest
Ethernet <-> fritzbox 7490 router
latest version of VH Cient
Connecting to USB eLC @ MacBook

Connection seems to be established, according to VH Client

Running Cubase or any other eLC protected software @ W10 results in a "no eLC found" error message

Stop using eLC @ W10

Running Cubase or any other eLC protected software @ MacOS results in "no eLC found / connection lost" error message. I have to physically unplug/replug the dongle to have it working again...

So VH currently doesn't work. There was a time though, previous version of everything, where it worked and I already considered purchasing a license.

Any chance/ideas to solve this issue and have it working again?

My guess is the elicenser software on the mac running the Virtualhere server is taking control of the dongle before virtualhere gets it. Once a computer has used a dongle it cannot be immediately used via virtualhere on another machine without a replug of the dongle. Thats how the iLok works and im guessing the eLicenser does also. I suggested uninstalling anything elicenser related from the mac

I want to use the eLC on for software on both machines, of course not at the same time. The W10 studio is upstairs and I don't want to take the dongle @ Mac downstairs with me when I'm going upstairs.

I want to use the eLC either on the Mac or the W10, without physically replugging the dongle. It worked someday, but not currently.

OK, virtualhere wont be useful for you as its not for working around licensing systems. All dongle systems require a replug when using between different computers

Reinstalled on my synology DS916+ latest DSM and .... not working with server 3.4.2 and sierra 10.12.6
Made the same test with my virtualhere demon on my RT1900ac and cubase started !

All test on my lan, despite all ports where opened and even firewall off, it did not worked ...
--> do you have a clue ?
--> do you offer a discount for a 2nd licence ? :D

Sure you can move the license, just start the virtualhere client, right click USB Hubs->License...->Copy to clipboard and paste into an email to mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com)

It might be something specific to your synology but im not sure, anyway i can move the license for you.

Thank you michael.

It worth try to move, i'm going to look deeper into logs, because it's really weird.
It was like if any dongle has some kind of filtering that unable it to complete tasks : elicencer/olk where found at some moment but not working for a long time ... i have not this problem on my router.
