DVB-T USB dongle support

Hi - I see people have had some success with DVB tuners and I am close, but not quite there. The server is a raspberry pi host with linux and the client is ubuntu. I can use Kaffeine on the client to scan channels and view programs just fine, but when I do the same with software called mythtv on the ubuntu client, it fails to find any channels. myth picks up the /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 automatically just fine, but when I'm scanning channels, it goes through them all, times out and finds no channels. With Kaffeine, it picks up the channels just fine. Both apps are and should be run as a regular, non sudo, user. The user is part of the video group if that's needed. I've used these cards directly on mythtv hosts previously and they are very well supported.

On the xterm running the gui interface, I see the occasional message along the lines of :
*** WARNING: Received 9 packets; Accepted 2 packets; Rejected 7 packets because of interface mismatch
*** WARNING: Received 6 packets; Accepted 1 packets; Rejected 5 packets because of interface mismatch
*** WARNING: Received 9 packets; Accepted 2 packets; Rejected 7 packets because of interface mismatch

But these do not pop up in time with the scanning, just from time to time.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards
David

The only think i suggest is to use the very latest kernel on both server and client and mythtv software. You should use at leat 4.14 on the pi and 4.15 on the ubuntu client.

But since it works ok with Kaffine i guess its very likely some mythtv problem.

I have a similar thing happening on Ubuntu 18.04 when I run the VH client. It's not clear what's happening or if it's a problem. but it is annoying. It's not even clear *what* packets. USB, ethernet, other...
