auth.bat not being executed

Trying to setup authorization from a Windows 7 client to a Windows Server USB Server. Both installed as services. Followed the instructions listed here https://virtualhere.com/authorization but no luck. The connection goes through without any authorization at all.

Please help.

config.ini is in the same folder as vhusbdwin64.exe and contains the following

It=1536949477
ClientAuthorization=C:/VirtualHere/auth.bat "$VENDOR_ID$" "$PRODUCT_ID$" "$CLIENT_ID$" "$CLIENT_IP$" "$PRODUCT_SERIAL$" "$PASSWORD$" "$DEVPATH$" "$NICKNAME$" "$NUM_BINDINGS$"

When you are running the server click settings->Server Log and that will say the path to the config.ini file it is using. Double check you are editing that config.ini file with the server not running

Hi Michael,

Thank you for getting back to me. I have successfully found the config.ini the service was using (maybe want to put a note on the instruction that when installing as a service on windows, the config.ini is located in C:\Windows\System32).

As a follow up, how can I get a windows client, with the client installed as a service, to pass a password to the server for authorization?

Thanks again.

A follow up to this - I figure I need to get the "server serial" and "Device Address" and put that in the client vhui with the PresavedPasswords parameter.

How do I get the "server serial" and "device address"?

Its not possible to ask for a password when the client is running as a service. So you will need to put in the PresavedPasswords setting into the client configuration vhui.ini file.

To find what the serial number and address are, run the VirtualHere client normally and right click on the device and select Properties. That will show the address. Run click on the Hub and select Properties and that will show the Server serial number
