Server 4.2.4 Big Sur, install successful, but does not start

macOS Big Sur 11.1

I’ve been trying to install Server 4.2.4
However, after copying it into the Applications folder and running it, going through the installer, and finishing the installation, nothing more appears. The server UI does not appear, and on double-clicking the VirtualHereServer.app I deposited in Applications, the installer runs again.
Nothing appears in Security & Privacy.
I’ve attempted running through the process multiple times and restarting the computer a few times.

I’d appreciate any help, thanks!

Hmm ok ill test again. Last week I testing it on my macbook air late 2015 with big sur. But i was running 11.2 beta and it worked with that.

I have been also testing it with my MacMini M1 Silicon Big Sur 11.1 and it also doesnt show anything in System Preferences->Security & Privacy even though it should.

I logged a bug with apple but i dont know if they'll bother following it up.

If one of you guys could have a quick teamviewer session with me that would be helpful. Email me at mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com)

Sorry my english is not good for living session. Anyway I have to travel this afternoon so I think I won't have time until next week. For next week if you still need a live session we can do it speaking by chat.

OK after some more investigation of this with a helpful user there are two issues

1. There is a bug in OSX Big Sur (confirmed by Apple) that will sometimes prevent the Extension Approval box from appearing when it should. Therefore you cannot run virtualhere server because the driver cannot be installed, because it cannot be approved because apple osx big sur and sometimes lesser versions have that bug

2. You need to disable SIP and it will work.

Strangely it works for me and i have SIP enabled. Also a few times i tested and it didn't even require a reboot which it should require when the server driver is approved and installed

I got the VirtualHere Server working on OSX Silicon. You must use at least OSX 11.3 (beta) and you need to turn off SIP. Download it from here https://www.virtualhere.com/osx_server_software and give it a try

I tried it with my WebCam and my USB disk and it works
