So I have been frustrated the past year trying to stream Xbox One through Nvidia Shield Tablet. Using this software is the closest I have come to successfully getting this to work. Locally when using virtualhere inside my network the Xbox One controller shows up correctly. I have it plugged in USB to the tablet running the server on my shield tablet and the client on my PC. The hub shows up and I enable the controller. Windows detects it and it displays correctly. It shows up as "Xbox Peripherals" - Xbox Controller. If I navigate to "devices and printers" a Controller is there and when I right click game controller settings the displayed installed controller is "controller (Xbox One for Windows). This controller functions properly it is detected and usable by UWP games as well as the Xbox App and will pass input for Xbox One streaming.
Now moving to remote. I have purchased a license for the product so I have full functionality. If I move out of my network and to test I have been tethering my phone to the tablet the controller shows up in virtualhere client and allows me to use however in windows the controller shows up as "unspecified" device in "devices and printers". And in device manager a second Xbox Controller shows up and it does not work in windows.
I feel like I am so close to have this work remotely. I am really excited that it is working locally and have been streaming my Xbox One to my Shield Tablet flawlessly. However if I could get this to work remotely I would be extremely happy. I am hoping that there is something I am just missing maybe but I think its potentially a but where the controller just isn't being detected the same way remotely as it is locally. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
OK so just to clarify, you
OK so just to clarify, you are basically trying to use a 4G ? phone as the network connection between your tablet and your home PC, and Virtualhere wont enumerate the xbox controller properly in this scenario.
My first guess is that the latency over the network from your tablet -> Phone -> 4G -> ISP -> Home network -> PC, might be too high. What about if you ping your PC from your tablet, what are the ping times?
