I've just found this fantastic piece of software and I'm evaluating it for use for the combination Synology NAS, HP4050 Scanner, macOS Sierra (10.12.1) and Vuescan.
Vuescan finds the scanner and I'm able to scan, however the scan (of a 10x15 print) gets sort of chopped up in 4 or 5 slices. Sounds like the scanner jumps back and forth and does not hit the right spot on it's way back. Could it be some buffering/sync issue?
Plugging the scanner right into the computer produces perfect results.
Possibly, can you try to
Possibly, can you try to install 3.1.9 on this website from https://virtualhere.com/nas and see if that fixes the problem.
I updated to the new version,
I updated to the new version, but I'm afraid the problem remains.
Now, I have a DS916+ and I that particular model was not in the list so I picked the package from DS716+. Could there be some compatibility issue with my device?
Kind regards,

VirtualHere wont drop data,
VirtualHere wont drop data, so its likely the scanner driver, perhaps with the additional latency of the network it might be confusing the driver.
As an aside...do you mean the G4050 HP scanner or the HP 4050 Printer? Assuming you mean the G4050 scanner, although it works directly connected, i notice there is not yet support for 10.12.1 drivers perhaps when its offically supported that might then work via virtualhere.
Yep - it's the G4050 HP
Yep - it's the G4050 HP Scanner. I'll dig out some old PC with Linux and give that one a try meanwhile :)
