On the VirtualHere USB Server Changes (2.7.5 onwards)
I saw:
3.6.2 (19th April 2018)
------------------------------
* Pi3B+ - will automatically ignore in-built usb ethernet adapter on the new Pi3B+
So I ordered some Pi3B+. After they arrived I went to the cloudhub download page and saw:
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B cloudhub-pi3-sdcard.zip (note: not compatible with the new 3B+ yet...)
Any idea when/if cloudhub will work on Pi3B+?
.
Im away on holidays at the moment until mid July. When i get back home i will create the cloudhub 3b+ image
By that time im pretty sure the code is stabilized in the openwrt tree. Its very close now as i see in the last few weeks some important commits have been made.
The change i made a few months ago is not for the cloudhub image, it is for the normal vhusbdarm(pi3) build of the server
.
Im back from holidays and made a new cloudhub build with the latest openwrt for pi3b+.
The WLAN works both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz now on the 3B+
However the LAN does not work.
So it looks like another few weeks until it will be ready. I'll try again in a week or two to see if the LAN is fixed.
.
I posted the cloudhub image for the 3B+ to https://www.virtualhere.com/hardware . The ethernet wont work at the moment, but the wifi does so its quite usable.
Are there any new
Are there any new developments in this plan?
We get the following error after put-in certain number of USB devices in p3b +:
"ERROR :: assign_and_init_hc: 1408: assign_and_init_hc: Failed to allocate memory to handle non-dword aligned buffer case"
But installing VirtualHere CloudHub on pi4 can solve this problem.
Most of our licenses are pi3b +, so we will hope to fix this problem by installing pi3b + 's VirtualHere CloudHub.
.
No the 3b+ is not supported on cloudhub, it's best to use the pi4. It seems like you might be hitting a hardware limit on the pi3b+
