QNAP TS-459 Pro II installation problem

Hi,
using QPKG Center, the installation don't create folder under ../.qpkg/ with all files.
In web UI i see "installation complete" but missing all files!
Why?

I have update firmware and now i see files.
But run "ps aux" in ssh i don't see virtualhere.
Why?

Hi Franco,

It is called vhusbdq not "virtualhere"

do a ps | grep "vhusbdq"

Nothing, there isn't.
So If i launch ./vhusbdq manually, i have "segmentation fault" afetr 3 seconds...
:(

Ah ok thats not good :)

Could you look in /etc/logs/kmsg and see if there is something in there mentioning vhusbdq. If the server crashes i try to log the stack trace to the linux log file. If there is nothing there i will update the software to display a stack trace in the kmsg...

Could you type

./vhusbdq --help

and see if that shows the help screen. I want to determine whether the server starts at all or it fails even before it can start.

./vhusbdq --help works fine!
When I do ./vhusbdq, it's all ok, but just i run client on pc, the server crashes ("Segmentation fault").

OK good so the server can start, i will update the server software to display where it is crashing... i will send a message when the build is ready...

Franco could you do the following.

1. Download version 1.6.8 from here http://www.virtualhere.com/qnap
2. When it crashes it will write the log to the QNAP log.

To read the QNAP log, in the QNAP web interface -> Open Control Panel -> System Logs and send me the details in there.

Thanks but can you paste all the lines in the log, not just the first or email me a screenshot to mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com)

There should be 5 or 6 entries in the log. I need to know the function that failed so i can fix it..
