Hello,
the setup is -
Windows (32 bit) server running on Windows 10 (stick-pc type device) serving USB ethetnet based on AX88772B chipset.
Client is Windows 10 64 bit machine
Once the client device pops up in the available devices list, clicking on "use this device" has no action.
VID/PID: 0x0B95, 0x0772B
Sharing other devices (for example, Profilic serial adapter was used for testing) goes without problem, UNTIL attempt is made to share that
ethernet mentioned above - after trying it, the server refuses to share any further devices, including those that shared OK before.
log fragment showing these attempts:
Calling CM Get_DevNode_PropertyW (Class) failed for USB\VID_0B95&PID_772B\1BC97F, error CR_NO_SUCH_DEVNODE or CR_NO_SUCH_DEVINST
appreciate help on this one,
.
(Im assuming you are not trying to use the only network connection, and you have wifi or some other network connection and the virtualhere client/server connection is using that wifi interface)
Try this build of the server, https://www.virtualhere.com/sites/default/files/usbserver/vhusbdwindk32… if that doesnt work either then unfortunatley its not going to work with that device for some unknown reason
ax88772b
:) no, there is a LTE modem that provides the connectivity and yet another AX88772B as well.
I'll try that alternative build and report back. We are trialing the VH in attempt to find replacement for another vendor solution and so far
it looked quite attractive so i'm really hoping it is going to work.
Just for the record, the client and server are on the routed medium (therefore no direct ethernet, bonjour advertising and such). However the
path is not filtered in any way, both IPs have direct access to all ports on both sides.
ax88772b
Okay, the server file provided appears to address this issue - i can now connect this device without any issue.
What implications does this have for future production use of this version?
.
OK great. That server build is the newer build of virtualhere. Its production ready and will go on this website officially soon...
AX88772A

I am having a similar issue when trying to remotely connect to an ethernet to USB adapter with chipset AX88772A on Windows 10, 64 bit:

When I connect to the Server, the device appears in the list, however when I go to connect to the device from the Client side, the ethernet connector on the Server side gets "Disabled". On the Server computer, I must go into ethernet connections in Control Panel and click "Enable" on the adapter every 30 seconds or so until the connection is established.

Do you know why the Ethernet adapter gets disabled when trying to connect? I've noticed it also gets relabelled from "AX88772" to" Virtual Here Network Adapter" in the Control Panel on the Server computer.

Here is the log without me intervening and no successful connection:

Is this a firewall issue or Virtual Here issue?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

.
Stop and exit the virtualhere server, and try this build of the server instead
