Synology DSM and Win10 Autostart

Hello,

Frist, I am having sporadic success with the Virtual Here auto starting on my Synology (DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2). Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't.
1) Is it always suppose to? (hope so!). But then why doesn't it?
2) Is there a more reliable way of ensuring it does. Synology will not support 3rd party apps. I'd be happy to add in a start request in Linux, but I do not know the file structure of where the app is, nor have I done this before on the Synolgoy NAS. I do now how to get to sudo user access in the terminal.

Second, I added the vhui64.exe client to the AutoStart app location in Win1 (v. 2004_latest as of today). It too does not always start. I have the executable on the desktop of my user profile...perhaps the location is the issue. I do not have the client installed as a service as I am only sharing the USB devices through the Synology NAS.

Any information would be hugely helpful. I can easily kick off the WIN0 executable, but it's convenient to have it already running. Having to go in and run the app on the Synology (multiple) is more of a pain.

Thank you!

Hi,

1. Its definitely meant to autostart. What NAS model do you have? Can you paste the contents of /var/log/virtulahere.log (remove identifying info in there if you want)
2. You need to put the exe (or shortcut) into the startup folder for you username. See here https://www.techjunkie.com/windows-10-startup-folder/

As for the WIN10 issue. The shortcut to the .exe. is in the startup folder under my username. And the .exe is on the desktop. It's seems intermittent. I will try again when I can reboot system.

Thanks for your help.
