Hi, this software solution is working very well and was extremely easy to set up. But I need it to work over LTE and I haven't had luck. It may not be compatible with my provider, and that's fine but I want to exhaust all options first.
Pi4 running the server image. Connecting with EasyFind. Works fine when connecting from my windows pc on my home network. A friend was able to connect from his house while the server was connected to my home network. He was also able to connect after putting his laptop on his hotspot.
When connecting the server to my LTE hotspot, I can't see it on my pc client on my home network, and my friend can't see it either. If the server is connected to my home network, I can't see it on my pc if my pc is connected to the hotspot. I tried a dedicated LTE hotspot, and using the hotspot feature on my phone. So clearly seems like a provider issue. I use Google Fi for anyone in the US that's curious.
Are there any options or settings I can try or I'm overlooking? Thanks for the help
.
You could also try something like zerotier.
It seems like you need a proxy forwarder because some LTE networks do block server functionality. EasyFind wont work with those sorts of networks.
I'll have to see if I can set
I'll have to see if I can set that up. I've used zerotier in the past and have an account, but I set that up with a step-by-step guide for that application, so we'll see what happens haha. Thanks for the reply.
Thank you Michael. Zerotier
Thank you Michael. Zerotier allowed my connection. Now I need to figure out how to automate it on the Pi so that everything gets connected on boot.

OK great, yes zerotier is pretty good and i think if the server is blocked it will route through their relay which i think is what you need, although latency might be quite high..
