In the virtualhere client right click on the Tobii Eye Tracker and select Custom Event Handler... then paste in this line:

onReset.$VENDOR_ID$.$PRODUCT_ID$=

then press ok. Now try to use the tracker. If that still doesnt work then the tracker wont work via virtualhere.

Hi Micheal, did you ever found out if the Tobii eye tracker works (with the fix above) with VH?

Thanks. K.

Hello.

I have got the same configuration as Carlo12c, and I tried the fix proposed by Michael, but it does not work. No changes at all.

OK this device is too expensive for me to buy and test with so at the moment it wont work...

Hello Michael,

I fully understand.

One more point: in fact, I'm using a shield for streaming games from my PC, but with Steam link application (because all my games are on Steam on my PC). And because I had some issues with classic VH client, yesterday I bought the VH for Steam Link software. And it works really good for all my devices (that was not the case previously), except with Tobii. But there are two major improvments:

  • Tobii Eye tracker is now fully recognized by Steam Link (I mean, with the correct name).
  • Tobii Eye Tracker is fully recognized by Steam games (ETS2 for example): I can activate it.

The only think (but it's major!) is that it's not working... some leds are blinking and some are always off, and no detection at all.

Maybe it means this is not a VH issue, but a compatibility between Tobii and Shield...

I don't know what you mean by "old steam link hardware": my PC is on Windows 11, and the NVidia Shield is the first one (so there is now a new pro version).

And yes, I have got one Raspberry pi: do you want me to make some tests? I may have some time this week-end.

Yes give it a test on the pi, email me at mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com) with any results/questions.
