Xbox Series X & Controller over IP via Mac & GL-AR300M

Hi, hope you'll be able to advise.

I'd like to use an Xbox controller on an Xbox Series X beyond the typical wireless range. I have a second screen connected via 30m fibre optic HDMI but the controller doesn't comfortable connect wirelessly.

I could run more Cat5/6 cable and run USB over that but it'd be great to run over IP. I'd all but given up hope until I found this project.

Could I use for example a GL-AR300M running VH Client connected to the Xbox Series X as a client (USB-A to USB-A) with the Xbox Controller connected via USB to a Mac running the VH Server (USB-C to USB-A/C)?

Is this possible? Is there a better way to achieve what I'm trying to do?

Thanks in advance!

To clarify - You have a Mac connected to a video monitor in a remote room via an HDMI<->Fibre cable. You want to use the xbox controller in this remote room to connect back as if the controller was directly plugged into the mac.  I didnt think xbox controllers worked with a mac, Is this gamestreaming to the cloud?

Sorry, that wasn't clear. The HDMI cable goes into a TV. A Mac Mini is in the same room and could run the VH Server, but if the Xbox controllers don't work then that'll be a problem! Any hardware could potentially be used on that end.

Essentially I just want the Xbox controller to connect to the Xbox over IP as if it was one long USB cable.

I have 2x GL-AR300M devices buy could buy whatever else required - the only limitation is running more cable.

Ok so you would need to run the virtualhere client inside the xbox x station. This is not possible unfortunately.

Ah OK, thank you, wishful thinking then! I was assuming I could use the Linux devices to proxy the connection and the relevant magic would happen :)

Appreciate the confirmation.
