I was wondering if you could provide instructions on getting the Android server (with a windows client) to work using Tailscale from outside the local network (ie over mobile data)?
Everything works fine when my android server and Windows client are on the same LAN (as long as I specify the USB server address as the localIP:7575 to the client), but then when I try to connect while the 2 devices are on a Tailscale network, it is unable to find my USB server. I did try adding my client-machine-localIP:7575 as a USB server address since presumably it would use the same local IP as the device running the Tailscale Exit Note, but I can't get it to work. With Tailscale running on my Android device, I am able to connect to the router login page by typing in the local IP in the address bar, so I know Tailscale is at least working for that.
I have enabled "Run Exit Node" and "Allow Local Network Access" on Tailscale for my Windows PC which has the VirtualHere client. For my Android App, I use the Exit noted associated with my Windows PC and checked "Allow LAN access".
.
I'm not an expert with tailscale, but sometimes i use it.
However i always just specify the tailscale VirtualHere server IP address in the virtualhere client by right clicking USB Hubs->Specify Hubs -> Add -> tailscale IP address of server
Thank you for the reply…
Thank you for the reply. Specifying the Tailscale virtual IP to the VirtualHere Server rather than the machine's local network IP fixed the problem. Thanks!
