Hello,
not detected when connected to USB 2.0 port but ok with USB 3.0 port :New USB device found, idVendor=366b, idProduct=0005, bcdDevice= 2.20
New USB device strings: Mfr=2, Product=3, SerialNumber=4
Product: VirtualHere 4-Port Hub
Manufacturer: VirtualHere Pty. Ltd.
SerialNumber: DOINEEDTOSHAREIT?
USB hub found
4 ports detected
When Hub is detected all USB 2.0 devices tested mostly flash drives of different brand and size are not detected.
With USB 3.0 devices it's working well and nothing to report.
Same result on 4 different generations of computers desktop / laptop / nuc with Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04.
One of them have a dual boot and same behavior with Windows 10.
A bit disappointed because flash drive I wish to share is USB 2.0.
Two Hubs was ordered can't test the other one for moment but pretty sure it will be the same thing.
.
Plug the hub into your Ubuntu machine then post the output of
dmesg
for that time period here. It should also detect a VID0x366b
with a PID of0x0004
which is the USB 2 part of the hub. (USB 3 hubs have inbuilt USB 2 hub and USB 3 hub together). If you could test the other hub that would be helpful because that would suggest a manufacturing fault if it works and the first doesnt..
Wonderful a bit of light in our misfortune.
You're right no problem with the other one.

If it can help you identify others like this one this time I left the serial numbers.
Hope there's a warranty and I suppose I'll have to send the hub back to you ?
.
I may be able to fix it remotely. Could you email me mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com)
