Virtualhere on raspberry pi 4 model B 4GB with 2 logitech HD PRO C920 webcams

I have installed virtualhere on my raspberry pi 4 model B 4GB.

After i install the client on my pc I can see the 2 webcams (Logitech HD PRO C920) connected.  I don't have a license (yet, as i need to know if this works first) so i can only use 1 at a time.  When i click use this device and check what i can see in the windows camera app it is indeed streaming the capture of the webcam.  However the screen will keep flickering.

I have tried with connecting only 1 webcam but it has the same problem as with 2 connected.  My power input for my raspberry is 5V/3.6A.   Did anyone ever get this working with 2 high definition webcams?  If so how did you solve this problem?

Are you using wifi or ethernet for the pi? It should be fine for one camera via ethernet, but for two you would need a pi5 and ethernet

At home i tried with wifi.  Both times i got a flickering screen.

Took at to work and wired it there, screen didn't flicker.  Still have some problems running it as a server (freezes and virtualhere server crashes).  But i'm okay with starting it manually because then it works fine for 1.

Sucks that i would need a pi 5, ordered this one only 3 days ago.  Will first test with 1 webcam if i can get it stable when i wire it at home tomorrow.

Pi wifi is terrible. You might be able to work around it if you get a fast wifi USB dongle for the pi and use that instead for the wifi on the pi

Happy to report that i got it working.  Wifi was indeed the problem.  I thought my wifi was good enough for throughput, never considered the fact that the wifi module on the pi would be shit.  So with ethernet no flickering, pretty good results.

The camera's have an ever so slight delay, it's not entirely smooth but i can work with that. And it doesn't get worse if i try to use 2 at a time vs a single one.
