Client raspberry without GUI, can I run it in free trial mode?
I successfully installed USB server on my raspberry, the client is a raspberry running domoticz without GUI, can I run it in free trial mode?
Sorry for stupid question, I'm new in the Linux world
If you run the server in free
If you run the server in free mode, then you cannot run the client as a daemon. Therefore if you want to run it in free mode, ssh to your raspberry pi, then type sudo ./vhclientarmhf and leave it running, then ssh again to your pi and type ./vhclientarmhf -t list and then it will list the devices on the server, then do ./vhclientarmhf -t use, xxxxx to use a device
I get an error:pi@domoticzpi
I get an error:
pi@domoticzpi /usr/sbin $ sudo ./vhclientarmhf
FATAL: Module vhci_hcd not found.
USBIP drivers not found, attempting to download for armv6l,3.18.5+...
Downloading http://www.virtualhere.com/usbip_drivers/armv6l/3.18.5+/usbip-core.k o failed: HTTP response code said error
USBIP client drivers are not available, you will have to compile/install your ow n from the linux kernel source
something seems missing, it's the USBIP staging drivers?
I did the following on my pi
I did the following on my pi
sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get upgrade;sudo rpi-update;sync;sudo reboot
then i logged in again and ran the vhclientarmhf and it seems the latest build of raspbian contains the usbip client drivers so vhclientarmhf should work immediately now. Give it another try after you did the instructions above
you are right it's working
you are right it's working with the update, so now looks good but I don't see it usb list:
pi@domoticzpi /usr/sbin $ ./vhclientarmhf -t list

Take a look at this, http:/
Take a look at this, http://www.virtualhere.com/node/452 are you seeing those messages? If so you need to manually patch the kernel yourself.

On windows client is working, i see the device
Ok it's working, on my client
Ok it's working, on my client windows it was in auto Use.... so that's mean I Can't use it in same time on both clients?
Yes i was thinking that was
Yes i was thinking that was the case, as i cannot see "device connected" type messages in your log file so i figured you actually have it connected elsewhere. YOu cannot have the same device in use in multiple places simultaenoously. USB was never designed for that so its physically impossible as the state machine inside the usb driver would never work that way.
