Intel NUC and Ubuntu 14.04 crash

Hope anyone has any tips with my issue.

This issue happens on Ubuntu 14.04 and Xbmcbuntu, on the same hardware. OS i fully patched, and I experience this on two identical computers (Intel NUC DIY3217U). I have tried this with a few different versions of the server and client. Same thing always happens.

I successfully run vhusbdx86_64, connect USB device and successfully attach it to a Win8 client.
Problem is that as soon as I access the USB-device, the server computer will freeze (full freeze).

Is Ubuntu/Debian based distros problematic, is there any configurations or tweaks in the OS that I'm missing?
Tried logging, but the computer freeze before anything is written in the log-file. Last try yesterday on latest version and fresh install of Ubuntu.

Thanks.

If the server freezes it is most definitely a bug in the kernel. VirtualHere is a normal userspace program which doesnt use any special drivers. I think unfortunately you will need to wait until the kernel is fixed. did you try with 15.04 ubuntu? that has a later kernel, i use that for my testing on a normal desktop pc (not the NUC) and it works fine.

Tried installing Ubuntu Server 15.04, but no luck. I receive a kernel panic as soon as i access the USB-webcam.
DMA: Out of SW-IOMMU space for 391680 bytes at device 0000:00:1d.0
Kernal panic - not syncing: DMA: Random memory could be DMA written

Did try some combinations of turning off hyper-threading, just single core etc, but always the same.
I will try with a different non-ubuntu distro, just for the heck of it.

Having same issue with Ubuntu 14.04 and two different webcams. Upgrading now to 15.04 but apparently it will not work either? Any knowledge what version works?

I dont know what kernel will work with your particular webcam, my advice is to update to the very latest kernel as it has the best chance of working.
