Hello,
Following problem, i installed the virtualhere server on my dlink nas, which seems to work well, tested it with some other devices (USB Audio, mouse, keyboard ....).
Expect with my printer, however i cant get it to work with it.
What tried: Different Drivers (PS, PCL), Another machine with another OS (both on windows one with 7 the other with 10), Disabled the build in share via SMBD from the nas., Changed the USB Speed setttings on the printer
Nothing seems to work if i try to print the job seems to be transfered, but it takes about 5 minutes till the printer prints and then it prints only a syntax error.
If i try to scan windows only says that a error occured.
I really dont know whats wrong.....
p.S can anybody tell me where the log from virtualhere is saved ? so i can look into it.
.
I removed the virtualhere packages for DLINK because DLINK kernels are quite old and buggy, where did you get the download from? Im not sure what version of the server you are using could you right click on the server in the virtualhere client and select Properties and tell me the version. Then i can figure out if the log file is there or not. By default i log to syslog and that is usually in /var/log/syslog or logread or /var/log/messages so have a look in those and post any errors you see here. Also on your dlink and you ssh to it and do
uname -a
and let me know the output, perhaps DLINK have updated their kernel recently. If so perhaps i can start building virtualhere for dlink again.
Thanks for your fast replay.
Thanks for your fast replay.
The package i got from here: http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/
Server Version: vhusbd[6312]: >>> Starting v2.6.0 (Built: Nov 17 2015, 23:59:56)<<<

OK , that the kernel was
OK , that kernel was released more than 6 years ago, so its really old and thats why i removed support for DLINK. If they ever update their kernel to something reasonably recent ill re-enable virtualhere. I think this is the reason your printer is not working as there is almost certainly a bug in that kernel version which would have long since been fixed in a later kernel, so for the time being your printer wont work with virtualhere.
Damn.... was the only reason
Damn.... was the only reason i bought the license >.<.
I think there is no way for a refund ?
But thank you anyway for you quick support.
Just saw that dlink released a new firmware 6 days ago, will install it and tell you again the kernel, maybe i am lucky :)
*still the same old kernel...
