Client runs with warnings, but the USB device is not mounted.

Ubuntu GNOME 3.26.2

The client (vhuit64) runs as expected and shows the connected USB device (connected to a Synology NAS).

However the terminal window starts with a warning (that may not be serious):

(vhuit64:8640): IBUS-WARNING **: The owner of /home/dd/.config/ibus/bus is not root!

After "using" it with the menu, it fills the terminal every few seconds with something like:

*** WARNING: Received 6 packets; Accepted 1 packets; Rejected 5 packets because of interface mismatch

And there is no trace of any local USB device.

What should I do?

What kernel version and what sort of device is it? There is a bug in kernel 4.13/4.14 where usb disks wont mount via virtualhere. Its ok in other versions of the kernel however

Thanks for the answer. Dell Laptop Precision 5520. Indeed it's kernel version 4.13.0-36-generic.
Can you point me to the bug? Is there any workaround or fix? Thanks.
