External HDD Nvidia Shield Disconnects

Hi Michael,

I am using VH to use an external HDD attached to a Nvidia Shield so I can download directly to this external from other PCs on my network. I installed the android server on the shield and have the client software installed on Windows 10. The drive shows up on the windows client and successfully creates a disk path letter so I can download directly to it. However, when I am using the drive on my PC, it disappears from my Nvidia Shield, ie, there's no external storage shown anymore on the android config settings and also on my file explorers. Is there a way to have it stay connected on the Shield and have it connected to one of my PCs so I can have it present on there to download to?

Thank You for the great software, Kroll

Searching through the forums, I found that another user asked basically the same question.

Two connections not being possible, is there I workaround that would be best? Having two HDD connected to the shield, one to handle the downloads, and then intermittently utilizing that one to watch new content and running a script or something to transfer that ones data to the other external?

In theory when you stop using the drive via virtualhere, Android should remount it. But i think there is a bug in the android on the shield and it wont do this. So you need to unplug/replug for it to mount in android again
