Shield TV

Noob question sorry. I keep seeing mentions of zerotier and tailscale. What do these do with VirtualHere specifically with android Nvidia Shield TV?
Do they perform better with less latency?

I have always just ran the VirtualHere android app and opened up the ports on my router. Thanks.

Zerotier is basically just a VPN solution which is quite good and similar to other solutions. I havent heard of tailscale until you just mentioned it.

Anyway they all work the same way. They basically will just try to open a UDP port through a NAT (or firewall) and if that fails they use a relay server to move data between the client and server ends of the connection.

EasyFind is similar but wont use a relay server because a relay just adds too much latency.

Easyfind is easier to use as there is nothing to setup other than enabling it. However easyfind wont work through firewalls because it wont use a relay.

So basically give the others a try but none of them will reduce latency because they all work the same way. The best way for minimal latency is just a normal direct socket connection between the two ends. Just opening TCP port 7575 on both sides and specifying a public ip for the server (or using a dynamic dns) is best
