Multiple clients using same server and port - issue?

Hi. I am looking for a system to run our new raspberry pi devices that are attached to 1-4 serial devices in our lab. We currently have ser2net but it is not easy to use and suffers from the problem of one of connecting to a serial port and not disconnecting.
If I connect and go to a workshop or am involved in something else, no-one else can connect to that port. This is highly frustrating, especially when the person wanting access is thousands of miles away. The only way to close my connection is to restart the raspberry pi or physically unplug the port.
If we use VirtualHere, can more than one client connect simultaneously like our old Serial Servers can?
If not, is there a simple way for the second client to push off the first person?
If not, I see from your previous threads that there is no timeout with "lack of activity", is there some other way of clearing connections? Even if it was an "every hour on the hour" it drops everyone.

Thank you in advance for any insight you can share.

WIth the USB protocol, two people cannot use the same device simultaneously.

However if you want to kick someone off a device and use it yourself, just start the VirtualHere client with the -a flag for administrator and then right click on the In use device and select "Disconnect User", that will kick them off, then you can use the device.

e.g vhui64.exe -a to start in administrator mode

Facing the same issue.
Would be nice when inactivity time-out could be enforced to allow sharing a server's usb port to multiple clients.

Not possible as there is never inactivity in a usb device...
