Hello!
I recently got a G920 over the holiday. It works for the most part in Windows, it shows in devices, and works in game, but doesn't show up in Steam controller page. It seems to work fine once in game though.
I then went overkill and bought a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0, and now the rig is a little too big to have sitting in my room where my PC is, lol.
So having a hardware Steam Link, I purchased VirtualHere, moved the G920 rig downstairs and tested it out with a few games:
Forza Horizon 5
Assetto Corsa
BeamNG Drive
The games work great over Steam Link hardware (and Steam Link Apple TV app) with an Xbox and Steam Controller.
However, when I play with Steam Link hardware and VirtualHere connected G920, Forza Horizon 5 or Assetto Corsa the game stutters like crazy. Interestingly, BeamNG Drive has no issues.
Any ideas as to what is going on with the other games?
Thanks!
Specs
Forgot to mention my specs:
PC:
Windows 11 Pro
NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super FE
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
16GB RAM
Steam Link on latest beta firmware 827
.
Unfortunately i cant determine the issue.
I assume you are using ethernet to connect everything and not wifi? Ethernet is mandatory to reduce latency.
Also see if you can tweak the CPU priority of the virtualhere client in windows.
Start streaming, show the desktop and then bring up Windows Task Manager. In the details tab, look for vhui64.exe, right click on it and select Priority -> High (or realtime if you are brave).
Let me know if that helps or not.
Thanks! I'll give it a shot.

I did find a pretty similar thread from a few years ago:
