Unable to install driver on macOS Monterey 12.5.1 on a Apple M1 Max MacBook Pro

I am running the server on a Raspberry Pi Zero and the client on my M1 Max MacBook Pro. The client runs and sees the server and the USB thumb drive plugged into the server. When I try to use the USB device I am asked to install the driver. The installation fails. Have tried deleting the file that installs in /Library/Extensions/vhhcd.kext , rebooting and re-try to install again but the installation fails again. I read this could be a possible solution. This is what I get in the logs:

Any help would be appreciated.

I could have sworn I installed the right version. I was hyper aware of that.
