How to set it up for SteamLink App on a Smart TV?

Hi, I just bought VirtualHere for SteamLink, plus the unlimited DLC. Thank you for providing us with this useful tool!

-Tried it with my hardware Steam Link and everything seems to be working well.

-Tried it with my Toshiba Android smart TV app and I can't get it to work.

I've installed the VirtualHere USB android App, which made the VH option visible on the app, but no controllers ever show up on that list.
How should I proceed to get this to work?
1.) I don't have my hardware Steam Link connected right now, but could it somehow prevent me from accessing those controllers on the smart tv app?
2.) Should I prevent VH or SL from accessing the gamepads via the TV usb ports?
3.) Should I just launch SL and avoid launching the VH USB server on the TV?
4.) Do I need to launch VH on my computer before/after starting SL on the TV?
5.) Is Big Picture a requirement or an issue?

Thank you in advance,
-ViLa

Did you plug the controllers into the tv usb port(s)? They need to be plugged in there. Once they are plugged in there and you have installed the virtualhere app, then you will see a way to select them from the Steam Link app.

Everything should be automatic. You start streaming from the Toshiba steamlink app, and the rest should be automatic (i.e starting virtualhere etc)

Hi @Michael, thank you for your reply. Sorry for the delay replying back!
Yes I did what you said, but although the VirtualHere option shows up in the SteamLink App, no devices are detected at all.
Going back to my PC, a new "android hub" shows up in the steam version of VirtualHere, but no devices are connected - also, I get a license error message from this device (smart tv running VH & SteamLink) - I thought this was supposed to detect SteamLink app and check that I have bought VirtualHere on Steam right?
Seems to work relatively well with the old Steam Link hardware I have, but in this situation I really need to use the app on the TV.

Thanks in advance

Edit:
I've figured out that I had to enable VH to start on TV boot - now I'm getting my connected devices being detected via the "TV Android Hub".
However now i get a message saying the trial has expired. Do I need to remove my hardware steamlink license to add it to my TV's steam link? I can't have both? How can I do that?
Thanks

You dont start virtualhere app yourself. You just run the steamlink app and it starts it automatically
