Licensing question regarding Quest 2

So I have to Quest 2 and plan on getting the Quest 3.
Does this mean i have to buy it twice? What if i have to factory reset my device
or have to ship it back in case its becoming faulty?

Is there any way i can pay for lifetime on android devices?

A virtualhere license is for one hardware device. If you change hardware you need to purchase a new license
