Hello, I am trying to use VirtualHere to use a wired gaming mouse over Steam Link over a local WiFi network. I have a VirtualHere client running on my desktop, which is running my game, and I am trying to use my wired gaming mouse on my laptop, which is using Steam Link to stream the game from my desktop to that laptop. The VirtualHere client on the desktop does not detect the server running on the same network. I have tested this with both the client software, and also with the Steam Link specific client. I am using the standalone server software on the laptop, as I believe the Steam Link specific VirtualHere is just a client. Thoughts?

The way its meant to work is like this
Okay. I am not running…
Okay. I am not running VirtualHere manually, though it is installed on both computers. However, as far as I can see, there is no VirtualHere sub menu in Steam Link prior to starting streaming, whether in Settings or elsewhere. Happy to post a screenshot if this platform allows it.

Ok i think i see the issue. I misread and thought you were using the actual Steam Link box from a few years ago.
Regarding Steam Link, If you use android as the server (where the usb devices is plugged in) and that runs the Steam Link app, then it will work via virtualhere.
Otherwise just get a refund from valve and use virtualhere normally. Run the server where the usb device is physically plugged in. Run the virtualhere client on the remote pc. In the virtualhere client, right click USB Servers->Auto-Find Servers and make sure thats checked.
Understood on the Steam Link…
Understood on the Steam Link version. As for the regular version, the setup you describe, with the server on the device where the USB device is plugged in and the client on the remote PC, is what I have set up now. I have also made sure that the Auto-Find Servers option is checked. However, despite both client and server being on the same WiFi network, the client will not detect the server.

In the virtualhere client, right click USB Servers->Specify Server->Add and put in the ip address of the VirtualHere Server.
