Hello,
I got two similar webcams, but i tried with 2 different type webcams and it worked fine.
Now when there are two similar webcams, i can connect only one and it's always the same one.
They are quite low quality cams, only 640x480 so bandwith should not be issue, tested with different cameras that both were fhd and that worked fine.
Might this be issue with windows as client, or virtualhere issue?
vlc and other programs say on camera #1 that it ain't good for opening, but for usb camera (withouth #1 on name) opens up most of times without no problem.
Using rpi4 as server, latest firmware version.
This happens also with trying any other than vlc as client software..
.
Yes it should be possible , but my guess is that the bandwidth in the USB controller on the pi cannot be allocated for the camera. 640x480 is not much but maybe its trying to send YUV which is massively more bandwidth intensive. Could you try switching to MJPG if it is only YUV
Have a look in
journalctl
(ordmesg
) around the time you try to use the camera via virtualhere and see if there is a message about"Not enough bandwidth..."
This was weird, somekind…
This was weird, somekind issue in that windows client.. removed all usb devices and hubs from device manager, then rebooted it, started virtualhere client again and then suddenly it started working..
So seems to that it had something wicked happening in that windows side.. When i tested it worked perfectly for many hours.
Thanks for your quick reply.
