VirtualHere Driver verification failure Windows 11

Hello and happy new year,

I'm trying to use a Thrustmaster steering wheel via virtualhere, connecting from a Windows 10 server to a Windows 11 client. When I click on it on my client machine, I get an admin prompt and then the following is printed in the log:

2025-01-07 18:18:51 INFO  :No drivers found, they will be installed
2025-01-07 18:18:54 INFO  :SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces failed
2025-01-07 18:18:54 ERROR :Hub failed to open error, No more data is available. (0x00000103)

Looking in the device manager under USB controllers, I see the VirtualHere device with a yellow exclamation mark with the following error:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Are these 2 errors related ? Any help is appreciated!

How old is the windows 10? It must be at least 1809 (i.e from 2018 or newer)

I don't have the exact version at hand but it's a fairly new fresh installation, about a month old

There is nothing wrong with the signature in the virtualhere client, so i think your client is blocking the driver installation for some reason.

Does the file c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log have any !!! entries on lines that mention vhusb3hc?

Open Windows Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, find the VirtualHere USB 3 eXtensible Host Controller, right click on it select Properties.

Does it say:

Provider: VirtualHere Pty. Ltd.

Driver Date: 15/11/2024

Driver Version: 0.2.42.438

Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
