Auto-Use Device Issues

Hi,

 

I have two servers that connect to the same hub. They each have a specific device they are supposed to use. The TS server should use the TS device and the QS server should use the QS device. I have selected Auto-Use correctly on each server to match this. However, when one server is rebooted, the other always Auto-Uses its device so that when it comes back up it no longer can. I've tried resetting this setting many times and the behavior is consistent. Sometimes it loses the setting immediately after I selected it. Furthermore, it seems they both like to grab all unused devices even though they are not set to auto-use the 3 other devices.

 

Can someone explain what is going on here? Is this a bug or is there a workaround available?

There are no bugs here.

You need to AutoUse by Device/Port (not Auto Use by Device)

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the quick response! This seems like it is working with the new setting. Are there docs that explain the difference between the two settings?

Auto-Use Device - will automatically use that device if its plugged into any port on that server.

Auto-Use Port - will automatically use any device if its plugged into that port on the server

Auto-Use Device/Port - will automatically use that device if its plugged into that port on the server
