Steam Link Xbox One Adapter

I recently purchased the VirtualHere for Steam Link software through the Steam store but I have yet to get it working with my system.

In my Steam Link setting > VirtualHere > XBOX ACC is enabled for sharing, then I start streaming to my computer, launch the VirtualHere software from my Steam library and ensure the client is showing XBOX ACC in use. But my controller refuses to connect with the adapter and the light on the adapter has never flashed.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a step I am missing?
