Server 2012R2: vhui64 driver install fails

Hi,

when i try to use a usb device on a windows server 2012R2 (HyperV-VM), connected to a linux server in our environment, the driver installation fails.

15:10:35 INFO :No drivers found, they will be installed
15:10:40 INFO :SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces failed
15:10:40 INFO :SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces failed
15:10:40 ERROR :Hub failed to open error, Es sind keine Daten mehr verfügbar. (0x00000103)

I already tried to extract to the drivers with 'vhui64 -x' and install them via dpinsts.exe. But i get the same result.

You need to run the virtualhere client in the root session of windows server (i.e not one of the sessions you connect to via rdp)

Okay, we did solve this.

We needed to import the CA-certificates of the driver first.

Ok thats unexpected, as i just use the DigiCert CA which would have gone into a windows service pack around 5 years go when they first started doing it... anyway at least its working ok now.
