Using a GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 Mini Travel Router and USB 2.0 2-Port hub, can I create a USB over IP connection to a Surface Pro tablet for two USB devices? One device is a common GPS unit, the other is a sensor that provides USB data to proprietary software package. Both USB devices communicate with the proprietary software. The USB over IP connection is a peer-to-peer (AdHoc) WiFi, no Internet access.
Our company currently does this exact scenario using VirtualHere software on a Rasberry Pi connected to a Ubiquity WiFi access point now. We would like a less complicated, more reliable embedded solution that eliminates the need for a Rasberry Pi. The Pi use seems an overly complicated way to create a simple USB over IP AdHoc connection over WiFi.
