Hi!
I'm using VirtualHere Server on my Nvidia Shield. From when I was using a Steam Link device, I have a VirtualHere license (the one for 3 devices, which is enough for my needs). I prefer to use Gamestream over the Steam Link on the Shield, as the performance of the former is much better for me. VirtualHere works pretty well for me with Gamestream, but there are quite a number of steps for it to recognize the license. Here's what I usually do:
1. Shield: Open Steam Link app, open VirtualHere Server app, connect Steam Link to PC
2. Shield: Close Steam Link connection to PC
3. PC: Open the VirtualHere client, manually enter the IP and port
4. Shield: connect to the PC with Gamestream
So my question is, is there an easier way to do this? Or will I need to buy an Android Server license to use VirtualHere without all the steps above?
Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem. I bought already the Steam Link VirtualHere LIcense but I am just unable to get this work now with my Nvidia Shield. It says if I bought the steam Link Version already I don't have to buy it again. Could somebody please xplain how to get this work? Doesn*t matter what I am doing, it always says the trial license already expired....

Sorry I missed this posting and didn't respond until now.
Yes as in the first post that is how it works. If you need it to run outside of steamlink then email me and ill give you a key.
Thanks Michael. I wrote you

Hi Michael,
I missed the responses in this thread, and had kind of forgotten about it until just the other day.
I'll send you a mail about the key shortly. Thanks in advance!
Same problem!
Bought via Steam the VirtualHere for SteamLink today, and like everyone here, also prefer using Gamestream on the Nvidia Shield TV, to use the flight joystick and throttle, for example Sidewinder Force Feedback, Thrustmaster Hotas and the thrustmaster Steering wheel for games such as Forza, Flight Simulator 2020 and Star Wars Squadrons.....
I've even gave it a try with Moonlight and like Gamestream it did not work. Although with Gamestream, it worked only once after I also carried the same steps as above, however, since then I was not able to get it to work.
This only works if you use Steam Link: the steam Link device and the Steam Link app loaded on the Nvidia Shield TV,
It is a bit annoying that I would have to spend some time fiddling around, following the steps above for virtualhere to work (if ever) to work in gamestream or moonlight.
I've tried the other virtualhere downloaded directly from the VH website, but it is only trial for 3 tries, but it works, so this means I would have to get an additional license for a higher price.
With the VH for Steam Link, this should be enough for all streaming apps.
And I saw this discussion, hoping for a solution.
