Hi folks. I am thinking about using VirtualHere on a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ (the one with the gigabit ethernet) to remote a software defined radio to a VM that's running on a server in my basement over a switched gigabit ethernet network.
The SDR can push the limit USB 2.0 rates, and I was wondering if the Raspberry Pi had enough performance to run a virtualhere server that was handling close to 480 mbps. I can't seem to find much info on the Raspberry Pi as a server here, particularly running over gigabit ethernet.
Anyone have any experience with trying to do something like this?
thanks in advance

Actually pi3b+ is not gigabit. And actually you can just use a normal pi but you need the linux client, the windows client is jumpy. Someone did a writeup:

Thanks for the reply. I see
Thanks for the reply. I see it's USB 2.0 connected gigabit, so limited by the usb 2.0 spec. I am not thinking about using the rtl-sdr, but the sdrplay rsp2, which processes about 5X the amount of spectrum the RTL-SDR does. Hence the concern about bandwidth.
Seems like the Pi is not the best SBC to use for this. Does anyone have experience with a faster SBC with real gigabit support?

Its tough to find a good well supported SBC. but the odroid xu4 is quite good.
That does look like a nice
That does look like a nice SBC, and the Exynos CPU seems to have better software support. Have you found people running the virtual here server on that part generally successfully?

Yes
Great. Any expereience with
Great. Any expereience with Odroid N2? Seems like a great device with a big heatsink built in, and more USB3 ports.
Odroid seems to do decent software support.

That one is quite new but the kernel seems ok, it might be worth a try also
