Hi,
i have installed and licensed a server on Synology nas.
I need to share a smart card reader (bit4id).
I connect to the nas using a vpn.
I had it working and I was able to see it.
Now occurred that the client (osx Mojave) can see the usb device but trying to connect it I have no response...
After a wile the usb device will disappear.. I tried to restart nas but I need to unplug and reconnect the usb to let it work again...
What can I do?
Is this normal?

When did "you have it working"? What was different, was it working over a LAN, or working using a different client operating system?
it is working on Mac and also
it is working on Mac and also on windows, from client connected form lan and also over vpn.
Sometime (it occurred two times when using a client on Mac over vpn) i was able to see the usb smart card reader but trying to use the device it not worked.
Afert a wile the smart card reader disappears; I need to unplug the usb smart card reader from the nas to let it appear in the list

Im not sure but its probably an OSX issue so you may only be able to use it on windows clients. Is it ok on the windows client?
on windows client I had not
on windows client I had not that problem.... but it works also on osx...
On osx (the computer that i use more) I had that bug... It woks perfectly but sometime it is not able to connect.....
do you think that the bug can be solved?

I think it's probably the Synology DSM firmware or OSX neither of which I have any control over. Make sure you have any OSX updates and DSM updates installed
