Multiple Simultaneous Devices

Hi, apologies if this question has been asked before or I'm missing something obvious..

I am hoping to be be able to access multiple remote devices attached to an RPi and the devices are recognised and made available by the client (Windows) perfectly.

The trouble is if I connect (select use) the secondary device the primary device can no longer be detected by the software that I'm wishing to use with it, although it's still available and shown in use by the client.

The primary device is a Pluto SDR and the secondary device is a USB (HID) relay board.

Thanks!!

Yes you definitely should be able to use multiple devices simultaneously.

However a usb device can only be used in one place at a time.

So if you use it remotely then on the pi server itself the device will become unavailable.

Are you trying to use one device locally at the pi at the same time as the remote client is using it?

Hi, thanks for the reply & confirmation of what I thought was the case regarding simultaneous use!

The devices are only being used by the Windows 10 client machine. They are both identified by the client and can be selected for use with the resulting chime indicating that new hardware has been connected.

It has the "feel" of being client related & perhaps related to the way that the SDR software that I'm using (that needs to access both devices simultaneously) communicates with the remote hardware, as it can access only one device or the other individually but definitely not together!

Im not sure unfortunately.
