Problems with serial to USB converter (Driver Prolific)

I'm having problems with serial to usb converter, using the Prolific drive. When I activate the device it reboots the PC.

My settings:

Server: Raspberry PI
Client: Windows
Converter: ComTac

Is there a solution to this problem?

Can i get remote access to your pi and connect with my windows test machine. I want to trace the crash and i can do it from my windows machine.
Email your details to mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com) thanks, i think if i can reproduces where its crashing with the prolific there is a good chance i will be able to fix.

Just an update for other reads of this forum. This is likely a bug in the prolific driver, i have emailed prolific to get a fix but not yet heard anything back...

Hi

Am unable to get a serial to USB converter to work (the device uses the Prolific driver).

Server: raspberry pi 4b running raspios-buster-armhf-lite, vhusbdarm v4.2.0
Client: windows 10 version 5.0.7

When using the device, it shows up in the windows device manager but after a few seconds it fails with :

This device cannot start. (Code 10)
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE

The usb/rs232 device works fine if connected directly to the windows laptop

/var/syslog does not log any problems on the server. Not sure where to look to see any problems on the client

any thoughts?
