easyfind option not showing on the client

I'm trying to enable easyfind, and my client is on the same network as the server, but there is no easyfind option

the server is a Synology NAS.

VirtualHere works perfectly with 3 dongles on the NAS within my LAN.

what am I missing?

I am having the same issue.

@Michael there is no option to download an updated copy of the Synology app on the page you linked, it only says "VirtualHere is now in the Synology Package Center, so its available directly inside the DSM when browsing available packages under the "All" category."

Yes i had to update my app for DSM 7.0 so you need to use that now. DSM 5.x/6.x is no longer maintained

If you have DSM 7 beta you will see it in the app store there.

#5

Are we not able to install the update manually or does is it not even compatible with 6.0 at all? The issue here is DSM 7.0 is still in beta meaning it is not officially supported by Synology for deployment on production or under warranty.

#6

Now apps need to be signed by synology and cant be user installed in DSM anymore. from 7.0 onwards

You will just have to wait until 7.0 is released if you want easyfind. Then you can get the virtualhere app.

#7

I had no problem side loading the app on the latest version of DSM. it then shows the easyfind URL, but I can't get a client find my NAS from outside my LAN, either with EasyFind or port forwarding.

@Michael I am a bit lost.

I am specifically trying to update VirtualHere on DSM 6.X which does not require signed packages. The limitation you outlined does not apply in this scenario, so why can't I manually install?
