Nvidia Shield TV + xbox one wireless producing ghost inputs when using steam link

I have an xbox one dongle in my nvidia shield tv running virtualhere (demo version on android). I've noticed that when playing games through the steam link app, it seems like inputs I'm not entering are being input--for example, in Bloodstained pressing jump (A) will result in the immediate input of attack (X), without touching the button. When running the same controller with the dongle connected to the computer rather than the shield, I do not encounter this issue. What might be causing this?

Probably latency. In the virtualhere client right click on Android Hub->Properties->Latency. What is that showing? Low and consistent?

#3

Yep, <1ms consistently. Both the pc and the shield tv are connected via ethernet to the router.

OK that should be fine then.

VirtualHere sends exactly what the dongle is sending so if there are mistakes in the controls perhaps steam is messing with it?

Can you start the game completely outside of steam? See if it works ok then.

I think you are correct, my apologies! Unchecking generic gamepad configuration support AND xbox configuration support in steam appears to have resolved the issue
