I just found this software a couple days ago and was really excited to be able to use PI devices that I already have to serve USB devices over my network. Unfortunately I haven't had any success after several days of experimenting.
I've tried with a Raspberry PI zero W, Pi 3B+, and my Android phone (moto g7). Both PIs had the same behavior which was frequent disconnects, usually more than 2-3 disconnects and reconnects per minute using a Kingston Data Traveler USB 2.0 drive as a test device. The android device was detected by the client right away, but took close to 5 minutes to actually connect to the USB drive, then disconnected within 30 seconds of connection.
Note that all attempts have been over wireless and using my windows 10 PC (Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon) as the client. I've tried two different wireless routers to help rule out networking issues. The only remaining common thread is the windows client.
I assume that this isn't normal since it makes the software completely unusable. Are there any known issues with the windows 10 client that could cause this? Switching to a linux client doesn't help me since the software I want to use only runs on windows.

It is entirely your wireless network, I am certain of this. I think you will need a better wifi chip in your board e.g the pi0 and pi3 have a pathetic wifi chip with a small ceramic antenna. You need to use something better with a 2T2R radio e.g the gl-mt300nv2 is quite good https://www.virtualhere.com/hardware
Thanks for your feedback
Thanks for your feedback Michael. I tried today using the 3B+ and also a PI 4 both over wireless and ethernet connected directly to my router with the exact same result. Several reconnects and disconnects per minute. So I'm back once again to thinking the problem is related to the windows client. Is there a log file that I can look at on the windows client to help diagnose the problem?
What configurations are most people using that work for them?

I was able to borrow my wife's laptop for a bit to test running the windows client on a different machine. Amazingly everything seemed to work fine on her low end Win 10 Dell laptop. Even the Pi zero W usb server. It appears that all my problems were related to my Lenovo Carbon X1 laptop.
