I'm running a ubuntu server on a raspberry pi 3 a+ and my webcam that I have connected to the pi which is running VirtualHere keeps like disconnecting and gives a black screen/won't show anything I have to go unplug it and replug it in. Is the raspberry pi 3a+ not good enough to run VirtualHere?

3a+ should be ok for webcams. But the pi wifi chip is pathetic so the throughput might be compromised.
Anyway, have a look in /var/log/syslog (or dmesg) and see if anything is logged when it drops. You can send me the syslog if you want mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com) and ill take a look.
